I took my first yin class on Thursday and am completely obsessed with this yoga for the connective tissues, which is slow and long and lovely. As my instructor explained, it’s kind of like laying around like a lazy cat on the floor. In a cool room, I might add. The goal is to stretch very slowly and very softly so the connective tissues, rather than the muscles, release. It’s both energizing and relaxing. The asanas are lovely little poses that you hold for a long time until you feel the stretch deepen and yourself falling into it.
I particularly love the cat-tail pose.

Yin is going to be a regular part of my practice, so more coming on this wonderful new yoga.
