So in my yin/yang flow class yesterday, we held child’s pose for so long time stopped. Not in that savasana kind of way, but in that holy f***, my hips are going to rip off and shred into pieces. My toe were touching, my hips were wide, my arms were extended and my head and back were pressing down.
This wasn’t a pose I took as a brief respite from a difficult sequence or following an inversion. This was no compact, resting, peaceful place.
This was balasana. And brutal, brutal gravity.
I hope my hips and IT-band pay me back tonight.
